This is a multi-year Bible passage memorization challenge.

There are multiple levels, and each level has a set of passages. All passages on a particular level should be completed, before moving to the next. Everyone goes through the same list, but at their own pace.

The aim is not to compete against anyone, it is just about trying to achieve your best and helping everyone learn.

Psalm 119:11 – “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Keeping God’s word in our heart is essential for our spiritual growth. This journey will help us get a bit closer to God’s word.

Though Sunday School is taking the initiative for this challenge, youth & adults are encouraged to participate.

Making it a family activity will make it an enjoyable experience for everyone. After all, learning God’s word is everyone’s responsibility!

When the new Sunday school year starts, teachers/reviewers would test whether previous passages are still in memory.

Eg. If you had completed Level 3 as part of the Winter Challenge, you may be asked to recite all passages in Level 1,2 & 3 before you can start with level 4 as part of the new year.

(Teachers may decide to do a review of selected passages.)

• VERSEathon Shekels can be earned by completing new passages/levels

  • Completing a new passage under a new level will earn 20 VERSEathon Shekels

    • Students from Nursery, KG & Grade-1 will earn VERSEathon Shekels for completing a part of the passage.

  • Completing a new level will earn 100 VERSEathon Shekels

  • Completing the revision of previous levels will earn 100 VERSEathon Shekels

  • All VERSEathon Shekels earned should be deposited at the collection box near the staircase.​

• On the 1st Sunday of the month, all students who have earned Shekels in the past month will be acknowledged during the Sunday school opening session.

• We will have a celebration at Sunday School when we have earned enough VERSEathon Shekels.

• ​Everyone (students & adults) who have completed new levels during the Sunday School year will be awarded certificates at the end of the year. Completion of milestone levels will earn a gift as well.

• For Sunday school kids

  • Any Sunday School teacher who is not your parent can test you.

  • Your Sunday School teacher will award you the VERSEathon Shekels.

• For Youth/ Adults

  • Be in touch with Anu/ Bonny/ any Sunday school teacher. 

Yes, both are acceptable.

NIV is preferred if you are learning new, but no need to re-learn in NIV.
