Edavaka Mission

Edavaka Mission Meeting July 2019

We thank Mr Sanjay Samuel for his leadership with Edavaka Mission. Here’s Edavaka Mission's report in his own words.

     “1.   Church Edavaka Mission:

Prayer is the source of power behind every ministry. We had our monthly Edavaka Mission Prayer under the leadership of our Achen. Meetings were held at the homes of our members during the month of January and February, but after April, 2020 the monthly prayer meetings were moved to the virtual platform Zoom due to Covid-19. During the month of July, prayer meeting was cancelled due to VBS closing day events and December was also cancelled due to Christmas Virtual carols.

2.                American Farmer Competition- 2020.

This competition was organized for members and their children, working from home and studying online. The main reason behind this competition was to emphasize the importance of farming and being self-sufficient.

As Edavaka Mission, we are thankful to the Judges Rev. Thomas Yesudasan and Kochamma from Edmonton Marthoma Church Canada, Rev Sam Phillip for helping decide the winners. The winners were selected based on the final presentation and complied with the competition rules.

The winners were announced after the church service in October. The hard work of the participants were rewarded with Gift cards and Trophies. Please see the below mentioned list:

1st place - $100 Gift card + Trophy = Mr. Thomas Mathew

2nd Place- $75 Gift card + Trophy = Mrs. Neena Binoy

3rd Place - $50 Gift card + Trophy =Mr. George Daniel

Junior American Farmers.

1st Place- $100 Gift card + Trophy = Ananiah Tobin

2nd Place- $75 Gift card+ Trophy = Liza, Christa & Samuel (Deepak Family)
 

3.       Sannadha Suvishesha Sangam day /Deputation Sunday:

Sannadha Suvishesha Sangam day was conducted via Zoom on October 4th (Sunday) the message was delivered by Mrs. Annie Varghese (LA.MTC) at Seattle Marthoma Church. Edavaka Mission secretary Sanjay Samuel delivered the Gospel Message at San Francisco Marthoma Church on September 27th 2020.


4.       Charity Donation: Our parish extended hands through Regional Edavaka mission to support the MTVEA Activities at Kompady- Tiruvalla.


5.       Registrations: As per the requirement of the Diocese and Kendram, our registrations are maintained and are valid till 2023.


6.       Regional Activities:

Parish members actively participated in the regional activities, Tele bible Study, Tele prayer meeting, which were conducted every Wednesday through Zoom under the leadership of Rev. Geevarghese kochummen and regional Secretary Rajesh Mathew. Once every month there is chain prayer starting at 7 AM and closing by evening prayer meeting to intercede of behalf of the various prayer requests relating to the special needs of our members, church, society, nation and the world at large. To be a spiritually growing church, we need praying members. We appeal to all members to join the chain prayer and make our church a spiritually vibrant. 

-          MTVEA Western Regional conference was conducted in Silicon Valley.MTC in Feb-2020.

7.                Election for 2021:   Seattle MTC 2021 Edavakamission Election for Vice President and Secretary and was held in the month of November. Mr. Sanjay Samuel has been elected as the Secretary and Mr. Jinu George was elected as Vice President.

8.                Acknowledgements:

On behalf of the members of the Edavaka Mission I take this opportunity to express our profound thankfulness and love to our Achen for the continued leadership he has given to Edavaka Mission this year. Achen has supported and promoted wholeheartedly all our initiatives we have ventured this year. I would like to thank all the members for supporting Edavaka mission by reading the bible, singing songs, leading prayers, delivering messages for our church Edavaka mission meetings / WMTVE meetings, providing tech support and helping to lead the meetings.

I would like to thank Mrs. Mary George “Neeni aunty” for serving as the Vice President for Edavaka Mission during the year 2020 and supporting every activity and for her prayerful leadership.

Mr. Sanjay Samuel is the coordinator for the year 2021.
